Jack Johnson was the world's first black world heavyweight boxing champion. His family were former slaves in the deep south of America and he made his way through life by firstly boxing in battles royale and then fighting the world champions in order to get his title. But it wasn't as easy as that of course. Being born black in 1878 was no easy thing and coming from a large family he learnt to fight at a  young age. Once he decided that he was going to be a boxer there was only one thing to aim for - world champion. But Black people weren't allowed to fight white boxers...so how was he going to reach the top?
