This walk looks at the tumultous history of Brixton, south London. 

 

Taking in Windrush Square, the famous market (and some places within the market), the murals, the sculptures, and the Black Cultural Archives (BCA), this 2 hour walk looks at all aspects of Brixton life, including:

 

  • The memorial dedicated to the woman that sparked the 1981 Brixton riots
  • Some of the amazing murals in the area
  • The Black Cultural Archives 
  • The memorial to the Sharpeville Massacre which took place in South Africa in 1960

 

and much more.
